Get your developers reliability ready: SLIs and SLOs in Lower Environments

Jan 24, 2024 6:00 PM(GMT)

Reliability management has been a subject of Ops and SREs. So far. But with platform engineering taking the center stage, developers are expected to help with designing more reliable systems, help with recovering faster from outages and automate the process of recovery when possible etc. This puts the developers in an interesting position. The new questions being asked by developers is do we have the right parameters to observe with which we can infer critical logic during incident responses? Developers do not want to experiment with these parameters in production, they of course need a dev environment. In this session, we will discuss the challenges and new approaches for developers in managing reliability.
